Summary

Myinlife is an app designed for people with dementia and their care givers.

Myinlife connects family and friends to form a circle of support around the person with dementia.

Carers can:

  • Invite more people to join their `circle’ caring for the person with dementia
  • Decide which information to share with each person in the circle
  • Co-ordinate care for the person through a shared calendar
  • Send messages to other people in the circle
  • Share pictures and stories
  • Make requests for help
  • Record key information about the person cared for in a carer’s notebook
  • Find out more about dementia.

Reviewer: Alzheimer Nederland, the Dutch charity which developed the app
Review:

“With the Myinlife app you can connect family, friends and acquaintances. Together you form a support circle around your loved one with dementia. Via Myinlife you share appointments, tasks and events. For example, as a caregiver you can easily indicate where you can use help. As a friend or family member you can quickly see how you can help…

… You choose who to invite and for which activity. For example, ask who can take you to the doctor, run errands or go for a walk with your loved one. People in your circle can then indicate which activities they can help with…

…Myinlife can be used as a website, but also as an app on your smartphone or tablet.

Review:

“The website and app make it easier to organize care for a loved one with dementia together with family, friends and acquaintances. Inlife contains several functions, including a timeline, message function, an agenda, a care book. As an informal caregiver, you indicate where you can use help. You invite people yourself, you can indicate who can view which information. The app also contains "The compass" with information about dementia and information about providing informal care. Developed by Alzheimer Nederland.”
