Summary

The app, developed by a Danish patient association, enables people with food allergies to:

  • select which foods they are allergic to, and then search a database of recipes that exclude these foods
  • create shopping lists for the recipes which can be adjusted for the number of people being served
  • find out where to find more information on food allergies.

Users can also choose to share:

  • recipes on Facebook
  • information on their food allergies by email.
The recipe database is also available on the patient association’s website.

Reviews

Reviewer: Astma-Allergi Danmark (Asthma-Allergy Denmark), the patient association which developed the app.
Review:

“Do you have an allergy to certain foods and do you lack inspiration for new recipes? Then here is help.  Download our new app ‘Food Allergy’.

This app is a recipe database that allows you with food allergies to sort recipes that contain ingredients that you cannot tolerate.

The app also includes features that allow you to share recipes on Facebook, share a list of your allergies by mail, and create a shopping list that can be easily adjusted to how many people are eating.”

All recipes are developed specifically for food allergies. The app allows you to click off your allergies and will then exclude recipes with the ingredients you cannot tolerate.

You will find recipes for breakfast, starters, soups, main courses, salads, desserts, cold cuts and bread.

The app is free and works for both iPhone and iPad.

Asthma Allergy Denmark is behind the app, which is supported by the Ministry of Children and Teaching and lotteries.”
