Summary

PatientView is an open-source electronic health records platform used by hundreds of hospital centres and GP practices across the UK.
Renal PatientView is the not-for-profit organisation that created the app and is completely separate to the company that runs myhealthapps.net.

The app helps patients to:

  • See the latest test results, letters from their clinicians and medicines prescribed
  • Read information about diagnosis and treatment
  • Set up alerts, for example when new results arrive
  • Enter their own results
  • Customise how they display their results for easier analysis
  • Monitor symptoms
  • Download their records
  • Share information with other people their nominate, for example, their care team
  • Send secure messages to staff at their hospital units, and receive alerts when replies are received
  • Keep up to date with relevant disease information, news and surveys.

Reviews

Reviewer: GMKIN (Greater Manchester Information Network), a joint venture between patients with chronic kidney disease, clinicians and the University of Salford.
Review:

“PatientView allows you to view, monitor and plot trends of your blood results as well as allowing you to view your clinic letters and upload your own readings such as weight and blood pressure.

This will help you understand more about your condition and how your lifestyle is affecting your condition, for example, you can monitor how well you’re adhering to your dietary restrictions such as salt, potassium and phosphates.

…Please, note that note all renal centres use PatientView and those that do not may not use all of its facilities.”
