Summary

This first aid and first responder app was developed by Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Österreichs, an Austrian not for profit organisation.

The app helps people to deliver first aid, for example by:

  • Searching the app for emergency advice
  • Giving first responders step by step guidance at the emergency scene, from protecting the casualty at the accident site through to tips on resuscitation after a cardiac arrest.
  • Linking to national and international emergency numbers to call for help
  • Finding the nearest defibrillator on a map.

The organisation emphasises that this does not replace a first aid course, but acts as way to refresh first aid skills.

Reviews

Reviewer: Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Österreichs, the Austrian first responder and first aid not for profit organisation which developed and launched the app.
Review:

“The Free App (for Android and iOS) of Arbeiter Samariter Bund Österreichs helps with first aid. In an emergency, instructions can be found, which guide the first responder step by step with images and text.

From protection at an accident site, to how to resuscitate after a cardiac arrest, the app provides vital tips.

National and international emergency numbers can be dialed with the push of a button. Now you can also display the location of the nearest defibrillator on a map.

The app can be downloaded for free from the iTunes or Google Play store and is optimized for smartphones and tablets.

Of course, the app does not replace a first aid course, but it can provide the security in an emergency to help quickly and without hesitation.”
