Summary

The St John First Responder app was developed by
St John Ambulance Western Australia, a charitable, not-for-profit, humanitarian organisation serving the community through first aid.

The app enables qualified first aiders to:
. sign up as a first responder
. be notified when someone has called for an ambulance within 500 metres of their current location and in a public place
. use first aid instruction guides to treat a range of injuries and illnesses
. send their GPS coordinates direct to the St John State Operation Centre, making it easier for an ambulance to locate them
. see all the defibrillator locations nearby
. upload the location of new defibrillator (AED) locations
. find the nearest medical centres and emergency departments, including live ED waiting time information. 

The app also includes information on:
. patient transport services
. first aid courses
. first aid tips and special offers.
