“The app was built with advice from Dr Licitra of the Cancer Institute of Milan, with sponsorship from us, the Associazione Italiana Laringectomizzati (AILAR), and the Federazione Italiana delle Associazioni di Laringectomizzati e Pazienti Oncologici (FIALPO), and the Associazione Italiana di Oncologia Cervico-Cefalica (AIOCC). The app is an effective tool for patients with tumours of the head or neck, and also for people who have difficulty speaking. The app allows you to activate a voice synthesiser from a repertoire of phrases that best meet the basic needs of these types of patients. You can also write short sentences to be sent to the speech synthesiser, producing either a male or female voice.”
