Recognises currency, and speaks the denomination, enabling people with a visual impairment or blindness to identify and count banknotes. A user points the phone’s camera at a banknote, and (without having to hold the phone still, or take a photo), the app’s object-recognition technology recognises the currency instantly. At least five currencies can be recognised: Australian Dollar; British Pound; Canadian Dollar; Euro; and US Dollar. Should not be used to try to detect counterfeit currency. Needs adequate lighting (the app notifies the user if the lighting level is too poor).
